ETHICAL LEADERSHIP AND DECISION-MAKING CERTIFICATE

Leadership and Ethical Decision-Making (9 hours).
This leadership development certificate is for engineers and scientists who are capable of thinking systemically, visualizing complex technical and human interactions, and resolving conflicting viewpoints, but would like to play more of a leadership role in their organizations. This leadership development certificate basically helps technical professionals apply these vital talents more broadly in different types of professional settings.

Our leadership development program helps students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to lead and learn the ethical decision-making processes they need to make real-world decisions. There are two core courses.

EMEN 5050 Leadership - An in-depth investigation of the concepts, tools, and decision-making techniques used in the management and measurement of quality, productivity.
EMEN 5080 Ethical Decision Making – Focuses on issues surrounding ethical leadership and decision making; understanding models and solutions to these issues; and understanding how to create a culture of ethical integrity through leadership.

The third course is chosen by the student from the following list. Each of these courses provides grounding and context for the different situations in which technical professionals work.
