Certificate Overview
This certification provides you with the technical expertise needed to manage initiatives in quality control improvement, problem-solving and reliability improvement.
Upon completion, you will receive the Six Sigma Green Belt certificate. This allows you to advance and apply for courses that award the Six Sigma Black Belt certificate in Colorado schools or any institute across the country.
Curriculum – 12 credits
Prerequisite EMEN 5005 Introduction to Applied Statistics or equivalent
EMEN 5040: Quality, Strategy and Value Creation
Introduces a contemporary model for achieving business performance excellence based on Deming’s Theory of Profound Knowledge. Course topics include Strategic Planning and Policy Deployment (Hoshin Planning); Daily Management & Employee Involvement systems; and Customer Quality Assurance models.
EMEN 5042: Methods for Quality Improvement
An in-depth investigation of the concepts, tools, and techniques used in quality control, including statistics and probability and management systems.
EMEN 5043: Advanced Topics in Quality Systems/Engineering
Advanced study of methods, techniques, and systems associated with advanced quality control applications, including designing for Six Sigma.
EMEN 5900: Research Methods
Develops basic quantitative and qualitative research techniques and complete a research design.
