Getting Started

Activate CU accounts

Step 1: Activate your IdentiKey

To activate your IdentiKey, go to https://cuidm.colorado.edu and click on the “Activate your Identikey” button next to the red arrow on the left hand side of the page.  Note: If you are a new student, it may take up to 24 hours (from the time you receive this invitation to register) before you can activate your IdentiKey. If you are an existing CU Student with an active Identikey, please go to Step 2. A social security number (SSN) or PIN is necessary for account activation. You will receive an additional email containing your PIN if we do not have an SSN on file for you.

Activating your IdentiKey is necessary in order for you to have access to mycuinfo.colorado.edu to register, drop and add, view your enrollment status, your grade, bill, etc.  In addition, this process allows you access to CU’s learning management systems (Desire 2 Learn), activates your CU e-mail account (CULink), allows you to access network remotely, etc.

Step 2:  Activate your Colorado.EDU e-mail

The University and CAETE’s method of communication to you is via your Colorado.EDU e-mail account. It is essential that you activate your Colorado.EDU e-mail account in order to receive up-to-date announcements about your class(es), course changes, new offerings, changes in processes/procedures/policies, news/events, etc.  After you have activated your IdentiKey, you can set up your Colorado.EDU e-mail and manage your account at https://cuidm.colorado.edu.

Step 3: Register in courses through CU System

Course enrollment is processed through your My CU Info account.  Follow this link https://mycuinfo.colorado.edu and click the “Student” tab and then select the “Register for Classes” or “Search for Classes” link.  Use this process to add and/or drop courses online.

Step 4:  Register in courses in eCollege

  • Review any “special instructions” included on your registration confirmation for help starting your course
  • Access your courses online in eCollege
