CAPSTONE CHECK LIST – Fall 2009
- If EMEN 6810 represents your final course, check your transcript and Plan of Study to verify that you have completed all of the required coursework for the degree. Use the information on the Degree page as a resource in reviewing the required courses.
- If you intend to graduate the same semester your register for EMEN 6810 you will receive a candicacy form and a Diploma card form. Complete the forms and submit them to Engineering Management by September 11th. Indicate all non-degree EMEN credits in the "Transfer" section on the Candidacy form.
- Access to your personal transcript is available at cuconnect.colorado.edu. Attach a copy of your transcript to the Candidacy form.
- Schedule a defense date/time with your Capstone committee by October 30th . Notify the Engineering Management Administrator of the date/time of the defense and the name of your primary advisor and committee members. After the successful completion of your Master’s Exam, a Masters Report form will be generated and processed through the Graduate School for you.
- December 2 nd is the last day (deadline) for presenting the Capstone defense. This date is established by the Graduate School.
- A conference room will be reserved for you. Note that conference rooms are very scarce at the end of the semester. Notify the Engineering Management Administrator as soon as you have reached consensus on the date/time for your defense.
- An InFocus projector is available for your presentation. If you decide to use the InFocus projector, you will need to provide a laptop. If you deliver your presentation "on campus," please bring hard copies of your PowerPoint presentation for all of your committee members. If you deliver your presentation via video conferencing, send an electronic copy of your PowerPoint presentation to all committee members.
- The day of your defense, a one day ($7.25) parking pass can be acquired at the Parking Services Center. Park in lot 436 (Regent Drive and Colorado Blvd.) and proceed to the Parking Services Center to purchase the parking pass. As an alternative, metered parking is available outside the Coors Event Center on Regent Drive.
- Visit www.colorado.edu/campusmap for campus directions. The Engineering Management office is located on the fourth floor of Engineering Center in Room-ECOT 417.
- Videoconferencing is an option for delivering your Capstone presentation. If you have access to video IP, there is an hourly charge of $58. The cost is assumed by the student. Videoconference scheduling can be arranged by contacting the Engineering Management Program Administrator at 303-492-2570.
- Traditionally, the College of Engineering and Applied Science conducts a separate Recognition Ceremony one day prior to the campus wide commencement event. If you choose to attend the Recognition Ceremony, confirm your attendance with the Engineering Dean's office by November 16th. Information relating to the ceremony is posted at http://engineering.colorado.edu/ or call 303-492-5071.

In order to process your paperwork through the Graduate School, it is essential that Engineering Management receive your information on time.
