Tami Katz earned a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University in 2021, and has an M.S. (U.S.C) and B.S. in Aerospace Engineering (Cal Poly Pomona). Dr. Katz is actively involved in the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), serving as an Assistant Director of Technical Operations, Chair of the Requirements Working Group, and is certified as an INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP).

Dr. Katz is a staff consultant at Ball Aerospace, where she works as a chief engineer on a space sensor assembly. Tami has spent over thirty years working in the aerospace field on products ranging from star sensors to space vehicles, and has worked in a variety of roles (design, integration, test, systems engineering, technical leadership).

Tami joins the University of Colorado Boulder starting Fall 2023 and looks forward to providing content from her research and experience to help build a foundation for excellence in systems engineering.
