Checklist
The following materials represent a complete application file:
- Graduate Application (Part I and II)
- Online Application – Indicate 'On Campus' attendance or distance education by selecting the appropriate box in the CAETE field. NO indicates that you are applying as an 'On Campus' student. YES indicates that you are choosing to apply as a distance student.
- Paper Application – At the top of the application, write in bold print either 'On Campus' or 'CAETE' to designate whether you will study on campus or via distance learning.
- Application Fee – $70
- Online Application – credit card option is available.
- Paper Application – include (with your application) a $70 check payable to the University of Colorado.
- Cover Letter (Statement of Purpose)
- Current Professional Resume
- Official TOEFL scores (minimum requirement is 600)
- GRE Scores
- Required only if the undergraduate GPA is below a 3.0.
- Applicants who submit GRE scores are required to score in the median to high range.
- Statistics relating to test scores are located at www.gre.org.
- Financial Statement

- Letters of Recommendation
- Degree seeking applicants – four letters of recommendation are required (two professional and two academic.)
- Certificate seeking applicants – two professional letters of recommendation are required. Letters of recommendations are mailed directly to the Office of International Admission with the completed application.
- Fulfill the Writing Requirement by completing a proctored essay exam.
- Procedure:
- Review the criteria provided in the Writing Requirements document.
- Designate a proctor and notify Engineering Management of the proctor's name, position, company and e-mail address.
- Engineering Management will email the essay details to the proctor.
- The proctor can be the Education Officer, supervisor, manager or HR representative within your company. Librarians can also function as a proctor. Friends, relatives and peers are not eligible to assume the role of proctor.

- Submission Process
- Online Applications – online applications will be forwarded to the Office of International Admission. Mail additional documents (official transcripts, financial statement, etc.) directly to the Office of International Admissions.
- Paper Applications – submit all materials to the Engineering Management office.
