NON–TECHNICAL PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS

Please contact the Engineering Management Office at (303) 492-2570 to discuss the following process.

Admission Option

The Masters of Engineering Degree in Engineering Management is available to non-technical degree holders (e.g., B.A. in history, business, arts) with the successful completion of the following, pre-entrance course:

  • EMEN 5000 Engineering Analysis—(Must be taken within EMP at CU-Boulder)

EMEN 5000, Engineering Analysis, consists of problems in the rigorous setting of the various engineering disciplines. The course is designed to familiarize the student with engineering language and with the problems to which the student will potentially be exposed as a manager of technical personnel.

While completing the prerequisite, prospective applicants are permitted to take a maximum of nine credit hours (but may not exceed nine credit hours) within the Engineering Management Program as a non-degree student. The following courses would be eligible for consideration: EMEN 5010, EMEN 5020, EMEN 5030, EMEN 5040 and EMEN 5050.

Taking nine credit hours in non-degree status does not guarantee admission to the degree program. However, if the applicant is accepted as a degree seeking student, the student may apply non-degree credits toward the ME degree.
